Daily Prayer: Matthew 5:14-16

Dear God,

We thank you for calling us to be the light of the world, shining your love and truth to those around us. We are grateful for your presence in our lives and for the opportunities you give us to make a difference in this world.

As we reflect on Matthew 5:14-16, we ask that you help us to live out our calling as lights in this world. Help us to let our light shine brightly, not hiding it under a bowl or succumbing to the darkness of this world.

May our good deeds reflect your love and glory, drawing others closer to you. Help us to live lives that bring honor and glory to your name.

We pray for strength, courage, and wisdom to be your ambassadors, sharing your love and truth to those who are lost and hurting. May we be a source of hope and encouragement to those around us.

We ask that you guide us and equip us to be the light that this world so desperately needs. May our lives be a testimony to your grace and mercy, drawing others closer to you.

We pray all this in the name of your son, Jesus Christ, who is the light of the world and in whom we find hope and salvation.

Amen.

You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden. Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.
